I haven’t been able to make a smoothie in the longest time due to my living situation but I am so happy to finally make one!
I reallly enjoy nut-butter and banana smoothies. I feel like most people do. There’s something about that combo that is just right. It’s probably the next best thing to ice cream for me. By the way completely unsolicited shout out to HALO TOP Ice Cream. If you haven’t had it is insanely great tasting ice cream, packed with protein, low in sugar and hitting 240 calories a pint. I am ALL about that haha. There are a ton of flavors, obviously the basic vanilla and chocolate, and then others like lemon cake which I love! Too bad it’s so pricey…
Anyways, back to nut butter smoothies! I have tried about every nut butter out there hahaha and definitely right now I am a fan of Trader Joe’s Sunflower Seed Butter. It is actually amazing. My mom turned me onto it a while back and I have been addicted. Probably because it is the perfect texture and has a hint of sweetness to it. YES IT HAS 3 GRAMS OF SUGAR! SORRY IS THAT TOO MUCH? I mean, there’s days where it feels like that to me so I understand no judgement at all but if you can get over yourself for one second…
ahaha. It’s great.
Anyways, the Smoothieeee
Mini Maple Sunflower Seed Smoothie
3/4 frozen banana
2 tablespoons sunflower seed butter
4 tablespoons almond milk (I like my smoothies super thick so you can add more if you want)
1 1/2 tablespoon maple syrup
pinch of himalayan salt (brings out nut butter)
1 teaspoon vanilla
-to mine I added 2 teaspoons of maca powder for its amazing benefits!
-a sprinkle of raw cocoa nibs on top
-an extra drizzle of sunflower seed butter on top
-a 1/2 of a Milano cookie cause why not.
Also with almost everything I have I HAVE TO HAVE TEA. Tea is just a thing for me I don’t know. So Here is my cup of chilled green tea for the day.
Oh and a good straw is essential, this straw is a stainless steel straw that comes in a set of 6 from Sur La Table.
LOVE LAVENDER so just threw that in there. ENJOY 🙂
